What I Packed for 11 Days in Canada

It's been over a year since I visited my in-laws, let alone a vacation. So, when we decided that we wanted to have a White Christmas, we thought we would make the most of it with our family and friends in Ottawa and Montreal. I had never been to Montreal and was looking forward to exploring a new city and bringing in the New Year with a bang. (More to come about this adventure in my next post under Travel).

Of course with the excitement of traveling, comes the not-so-easy tasks of planning and packing. I am usually the one who has to have lists and go all out with planning what to wear right down to the day. This time I found a God-send of an app that totally made it easy to plan and most importantly, since I'm a visual person, see how my outfits looked put together. With the Stylebook app, there's so many helpful tools that made packing a breeze. You can snap pictures from your own closet or images from the web, categorize your garments and even plan your week of what to wear. So below is what I sorted out for the trip and my goal was to be as minimalistic as possible, since I tend to overpack.

What was important for me was making sure I packed with layers in mind, especially to face the great white north. All in all, I had 4 tops, 4 layering pieces, 3 pairs of pants, 2 coats, scarf, 3 pairs of shoes and travel bag.  Not pictured are thermal underwear and wool socks and gloves!

And here you have it, with all my pieces I was able to plan 11 different outfits for the entire trip.
